Delete your data
You can delete your data yourself in the app at any time. This page shows the routes, explains what is deleted where, and states openly which minimal purchase data remains and why.
The essentials
- Most data exists only on your iPhone. You delete it there in the app, immediately.
- Images on our server exist only temporarily and expire after 24 hours at the latest. You can additionally trigger the deletion of your server data yourself.
- Minimal purchase and allowance data remains separately. We do not present it as deleted.
- Deleting data or the app does not cancel a subscription.
Deletion routes in the app
Delete a single project
In the “Library” tab you can delete a project. This removes that project’s original photo, the eye crop, the editing data and all related previews from the device.
Delete all local data
Under Settings → “Delete all data on this iPhone” you remove all projects, drafts, previews, notes and reminders on this device.
Delete data on the server
Directly below, “Delete my server data” triggers the deletion of your data on our server. The server first sets a permanent deletion marker. It ensures that late responses from processing cannot restore anything. Variants that have not started yet are stopped, your consent counts as withdrawn, and this installation’s access tokens become invalid.
Withdraw AI consent only
Under Settings → “AI consent” → “Withdraw consent” you stop transfers for the future without deleting your local library.
What is deleted where?
| Data | Where | Deletion |
|---|---|---|
| Original photos, face geometry, crops, previews, comparisons, notes, reminders | Your iPhone | Immediately when you delete a project or all local data. |
| Uploaded eye crop and generated results | Private image storage of our backend | Automatically after completion or confirmed storage, at the latest after the 24-hour expiry; blocked immediately when you trigger server deletion. Physical deletion follows with the next clean-up run, which runs at least hourly. |
| Jobs, variants, error codes, installation data and sessions | Database of our backend | With server deletion; without a deletion request, job and error metadata expires after 30 days. |
| Technical logs without content | Operating environment of our backend | Expire after 14 days. They contain no images and no full IP addresses. |
| Exported images and videos | Your photo library or apps you shared with | You have to delete these yourself; Lashvue has no access to them. |
What remains – and why
After server deletion, two things remain:
- Minimal purchase and allowance data: store, environment, original transaction ID, subscription status, expiry date and usage counters. They are needed so that you can restore your paid access after reinstalling, and so that the monthly limit cannot be bypassed by deleting and reinstalling. At RevenueCat and Apple, purchase data remains according to their own rules.
- The deletion marker: an entry without image content that prevents late processing results from being stored again.
Photos are never part of this remaining data.
No fixed deletion period has been set for this minimal purchase data and for the record of consent and withdrawal. They are kept for as long as they are needed for restoring access, the allowance and the record.
Deleting does not cancel a subscription
A running subscription ends neither by deleting your data nor by deleting the app. You cancel it in your Apple account settings under “Subscriptions” or via “Manage subscription” in the app’s settings. The app points this out before a deletion. Apple’s instructions: Cancel a subscription.
Deleting without an internet connection
The app deletes local data immediately, even without a connection. Deletion on the server cannot take place at that moment – and the app does not claim that it has. It keeps the deletion request securely on the device and carries it out as soon as a connection is available again. It only discards the access data needed for this once the server has confirmed the deletion.
In the settings you can see whether a deletion request is still pending or has been confirmed.
App already deleted or no access any more?
When you uninstall the app, iOS removes the photos and projects stored in the app. Independently of that, images on our server expire after 24 hours at the latest, and job and error metadata after 30 days.
You can also request deletion by e-mail: quizel.support@protonmail.com. If possible, give us your support ID (Settings → Support, format “LL-…”). Because there is no user account, we usually cannot match server data to a person without the support ID. Please do not attach photos.
External providers
Our deletion covers our own systems. OpenRouter, the model provider, RevenueCat and Apple apply their own retention rules. We therefore do not say that an image is “deleted everywhere immediately”.
We cannot verify ourselves how long these providers actually keep data. The status is described on the page AI feature and recipients and in the privacy notice.
